Two days before she is set to compete in the 100M Hurdles, the New York Times releases an article titled “For Lolo Jones, Everything Is Image”.
Days later as she competed for the Olympic medal in the 100M hurdles, she managed to finish 4th. Her teammates Dawn Harper and Kellie Wells won a Silver and Bronze medal. Although her teammates beat her and took home a medal the attention remained on Lolo.
Lolo is known to the world as a track superstar, who is a 30-year-old virgin. Not only is she known for her rough childhood, but many know her as a pretty face.
Lolo has been receiving criticism for not being able to win a medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and now London 2012. Many think there is too much hype around the track superstar and much of the attention should be given to her teammates who actually win races.
Jones being an American athlete is disappointed, the US media would write such a thing. She is not happy about the names they are calling her. When she is said to work 6 days a week for 4 years to compete in an Olympic race.
Hopefully she can get what she dreams of in 2016.
